Kerry Payne is an Australian photographer based in New York City. She is drawn to the healing power of photography – a tool she uses for exploring and acknowledging emotions as guides to the path of happiness.
Her current project probes the complicated grief facing those left behind when somebody they love dies by suicide.
Kerry has studied photography, documentary film making and writing at the International Center for Photography, School of Visual Arts and New York University.
Her work has been published worldwide by publications such as Marie Claire magazine, Esquire.com, The Sydney Morning Herald, Revista Photo Magazine, The Huffington Post and Burn Magazine. She has participated in several group projections and exhibitions throughout the USA and her current project is being exhibited on billboards throughout Sydney, Australia as part of the 2012 Head On Photo Festival.
Kerry is also co-founder of Principa, a consulting network delivering business development technology, marketing strategy and profit boosting tools to small and mid-sized businesses worldwide. In this capacity she has consulted to Burn Magazine and photographers David Alan Harvey, James Nachtwey and Steve McCurry on social media marketing, strategy and positioning.
